Inter Library Loans
Who can borrow?
If you are a member of the Gaynor Family Regional Library, you may request to borrow materials through inter library loan (ILL) by using fILL.  An interlibrary loan management system for all Manitoba public libraries.   fILL enables library patrons to quickly and easily search the catalogues of many Manitoba public libraries at the same time. When you request an item through fILL your local library staff will try to borrow the item from the lending library for you.
If you have any outstanding fines or if there is a problem with the account, it must be cleared before a request is made.

How do I make a request?
Advise the Circulation Clerk of the title/author or subject, and a request form will be sent on your behalf or call us at (204) 482-3522.  For on-line access to fILL follow this link: https://fill.mb.libraries.coop/cgi-bin/public.cgi

Frequently Asked Questions

What can not be borrowed?
Magazines and audio/visual materials are currently the only items that can not be requested.  Additionally, some libraries will not send items that are new or in high demand.

How long will it take for me to get my books?
The average arrival time is one to ten business days.  Timing depends on where the item is being shipped from and if the item is on that library's shelves.
Is there a charge for interlibrary loans?
If the books are requested from within Manitoba, there are no charges.  Microfilm, and books from other provinces all have charges but vary between libraries.  If there is a charge, you will be informed before the item is ordered.

How long is the borrowing period?
The borrowing period is set by the lending library, which is usually two weeks or longer.  However, this time can change depending on the lending library and if the item has a reserve list.

How many items can be loaned out to a library?
The limit is three items per person per week.

What happens if I lose an item signed out to me?
You will be required to provide a replacement cost as determined by the loaning library.
